I came across a series of import CDs titled "Dance Classics" on a Dutch label called Rodeo Media. The series started out on the Dutch label Arcade in the late 1980s, and then switched to Rodeo at some point in the 2000s.
Anyhow, one of their most recent series (from 2012) is titled "Dance Classics, Best Of" and is marketed as a Universal Records/Rodeo Media release. I went ahead an purchased a box set, which has all five volumes, each with three discs, for a total of 150 tracks. A large majority of the songs are the 12" extended versions, mainly songs from the '80s, but also includes some '70s and '90s tracks.
Has anyone heard any of these discs? I only paid $47, which included shipping from the Netherlands, for all 15 discs. The track list is pretty decent, and I'm hoping they were able to get tape sources for at least some of the songs given that Universal is the main label listed on the release. I'll post an update when I receive the discs if anyone is interested in them.

Yes, Aaron please do post about them once you receive them. I did look at the track lists for Vols 1-5 and it appears most tracks are owned by Universal so I would expect tape sources for most if not all of them.

Aaron, when you get them, can you let us know if "I Can Dream About You" is from tape?
And while on the subject of Universal owned songs, does anyone know if these 12" versions have come out on CD (from tape) - "Mickey", "We Don't Talk Anymore", "Precious Love", and "Crazy in the Night"? Someone pointed out an import CD with the 12" of "Mickey" but it was deteremined to be from vinyl

Hey EdisonLite,
I think there were two different 12" for "I Can Dream About You". I am pretty sure that they both exist digitally. I am not sure if they are vinyl sources or not but I can check.
Do you know which one you are looking for?

I sent Edison an mp3 of the second 12" which was the Larry Levan remix (5:54). He's looking for the (7:31) Jellybean remix that is included in this box set.

I received this set, and while I haven't had a chance to check all of the tracks on every disc, I can report that some are from the master tapes and others are cleaned up from vinyl. The first track on Vol. 1, Disc 1 is "I Can Dream About You," which definitely is from tape. It runs 7:39.
