This song has popped up a couple times in other threads, so I thought we could give it a dedicated thread. ZZ Top's "Sharp Dressed Man" peaked at #56 on the Hot 100 in 1983, but is obviously very well-known thanks in part to classic rock radio and the intro of the TV show Duck Dynasty.
The single version runs 2:58 (printed 3:01) and is a slight remix and edit of the LP version. A couple years ago, a new ZZ Top compilation called The Baddest Of ZZ Top issued the single version on CD for the first time in the US (as far as I know). This same compilation also marks the US CD debuts for the 45 versions of of "I Thank You," "Gimme All Your Lovin'," "Rough Boy," and "Velcro Fly."
I also stumbled across a 1993 Back Trax CD single just this week, which has a 3:58 "edit" of "Sharp Dressed Man" as track 2. (Track 1 is the 45 version of "Legs.") Interestingly, this 3:58 version is actually a longer version of the 45 remix.
