I'd noticed a huge dropoff in the quality of CDs on the "Fuel 2000" label
in recent years. That being said, I recently spotted a 2010 domestic
release by the same guys, now calling themselves the "Fuel" label (302
061 857 2) by Kenny Nolan, entitled "All-Time Greatest Performances."
There is no current mention of this CD in the db. So I decided to take a
chance, and pick it up. Got it today. Fortunately, it does include the
original recordings of his two Top 40 hits, "I Like Dreamin' ((S), (3:29))
and "Love's Grown Deep" ((S), (3:55)). For the completionists out there, it
also includes his other Hot 100 charter on 20th Century, "My Eyes Get
Blurry", as well as a demo version
of "I
Like Dreamin'" as the last track ((M), (3:38)). Unfortunately, it does not
include his final Hot 100 entry, from 1980 (on Casablanca), the almost-
made-the-Top-40 "Us And Love (We Go Together)", which our station
did play for a short time as a current. Thought I'd share this new info
here, especially since this is the first "hits" package I've ever seen released
on Kenny Nolan, anywhere. (My new Mac leaves some strange space gaps
- it's not too much eggnog!) :)

Fuel also released a Best Of Gallery CD the same day - unfortunately, that one is taken entirely from vinyl, which isn't surprising, since no master tapes have ever been found or used for any CD containing a Gallery song.

I think the Kenny Nolan CD sounds fine.

Here's what I found for "I Like Dreamin'":

The oldest CD I have the song on is Cema's 2-CD Mellow Gold (1991), where it's faded a little early and seems to have added noise reduction - avoid.

Much better is Rhino's Have A Nice Day Vol. 19 (1993). There are a bunch of other CDs that use the same analog transfer as HAND:
  • Razor & Tie/Warner Special Products' 2-CD Easy '70s (1993)
  • Time-Life's 2-CD Body Talk Vol. 5 Sealed With A Kiss (1996; differently-EQ'd digital clone)
  • Time-Life's AM Gold Vol. 24 1977 (1997; digitally identical)
  • Simitar's Love Rocks 3 Love Time (1998)
  • Time-Life's 2-CD Singers And Songwriters Vol. 12 1975-1979 (2001; digitally exactly 0.485 dB quieter)
  • Eric's Hard To Find 45s On CD Vol. 12 (2010; differently-EQ'd digital clone but with added noise reduction - avoid)
Does the Fuel CD have the 1974 original version of "Lady Marmalade" that Kenny Nolan recorded with Bob Crewe as The Eleventh Hour?

No it doesn't, Ron. To me, it seems that the labels rarely ever tack on output
from a solo artists' past and/or future associated groups (even though the
1974 Eleventh Hour LP with "Lady Marmalade" on it also appeared on the
same label as his solo stuff did, 20th Century), short of a superstar-type's
box set, as a bonus rarity.

Hmmm, make it a trio. In addition to the Kenny Nolan and Gallery collections (both of which Pat now has listed in the on-line db), it seems the label also came out w/ an All Time Greatest Performances for Lobo (Fuel 2000 302061854) at that time (2010). That one is still MISSING from the db. I don't have the CD myself, but it's still in print. Hopefully, Pat will add Lobo as well. On eBay: LOBO - "All Time Greatest Performances" (U.S. CD) On Amazon: LOBO - "All Time Greatest Performances" (U.S. CD)
