I'm pretty sure I have the promo CD for this song, and I'll post the details
when I get home. I believe it's the Mainstream Radio Edit that you have. Def
Jam had separate pop/mainstream edits for a number of their songs in the
late '90s and early '00s.

I have two promos for "Luv U Better," and here are the details.

DEFR 15719-2
1. Top 40 Edit (actual 3:27)
2. Album Version (Clean) (actual 4:46)
3. Instrumental (actual 4:48)
4. Call Out Hook

DEFR 15626-2
1. Radio Edit (actual 4:02)
2. Instrumental (actual 4:48)
3. Call Out Hook

Neither promo has listed times.

What I find odd about DEFR 15719-2 is that the back insert states "Impacting radio November 11th". By November 11, 2002, the song had already been a major radio hit for months.

Paul, I'm betting that it was impacting CHR/POP radio on November 11. The song was a relative stiff on the CHR airplay chart, stalling out at #42 on December 13, 2002. Certainly urban radio and rhythmic radio had already been playing the heck out of it by that time, but apparently very few pop stations were playing it. Perhaps that's why the decision was made to make a "Top 40 Edit" on a separate promo CD, which in this case didn't seem to give it any extra boost.
