has anyone re-created the 45 version of the ohio players
song 'funky worm' by tacking on the 0:07 drum tap intro
from the vinyl 45 onto the cd/lp version?...everything
else about the song is the same...

Yes, that's exactly what I did.
The opening drums from the 45 are a famous "break" that has been sampled several times in hip-hop and pop music. The synthesizer solo has also been sampled several times, probably most famously on the song "Jump" by Kris Kross (although it was sped up considerably in the sample).
