My commercial 45, confirmed as ABC-Paramount 9888, has a listed time of
(2:28), but an actual time of (2:32). (Deadwax: ABC-3169 -1). The 19
current database CDs that include this song have run times ranging from
(2:24) to (2:29). To my ears, the CD versions all fade out earlier than my 45
does.

for some reason when i searched it didn't come up...very
odd.....but to consolidate

my commercial 45 for the danny & the juniors song 'rock
and
roll is here to stay' issued as abc-paramount 9888 lists
the run time on the label as 2:28 but actually runs 2:32
......the version on the cd 'a golden classics edition'
runs 2:27 and is way too fast...you'll need to slow that
version down by 0:05 to get it to match the speed of the
vinyl 45...

It's the quotes thing. If the song title had quote in the original post and you search for it without quotes, it doesn't show up.

would you be able to confirm if the version on some of the other CDs
running in the 2:27 / 2:28 range could be slowed down to create the 45,
e.g., as it is on "Vintage Music" (which I own).

ed was kind enough to send me a dub of his 45 and I can confirm that the
version on Vintage Music can be slowed down to match it, i.e., it simply runs
faster.
