I have just pre-ordered "Amazing Early 60's Box: 88 Hard-To-Find Hits",
on the "Complete 60's" label, directly from the Ericrecords.com website.
Because I ordered directly through Eric, my 3-CD set will ship October
15th, a full month before it's available anywhere else.
This set will include the CD debuts of such long-elusive, 1960-61-62 Top
40 hits as:
-Walter Brennan--Mama Sang A Song
-Bob Beckham--Crazy Arms
-Dante & The Evergreens--Alley-Oop
-Anita Bryant--Wonderland By Night
-Ray Charles--Unchain My Heart (Mono Hit Single Version Debut)
-Adam Wade--As If I Didn't Know (Mono Hit Single Version Debut)
-Toni Fisher--West Of The Wall (U.S. CD debut)
-Richard Chamberlain--Love Me Tender
-Jack Ross--Cinderella
......and others!
There are also numerous stereo version rarities/debuts contained; too
numerous to mention here, so please browse the Eric site - it's the first
CD you'll see. Both Bill Buster and our own Mark Mathews have clearly
outdone themselves here. The disc states right on it that this collection is
"Created BY Collectors - FOR Collectors". It is the absolute truth!!!!!!! A few
months back, I remember that Mark was kind enough to actually e-mail
some of us on Pat's Board, asking us for 1960-62 "Top 40 hits still
missing on CD" suggestions. I replied. Incredibly, I now see well over half
of my song submissions on this set! For me, it's nothing short of a dream
come true! I honestly never thought I'd see the day when a major re-issue
label would actually care enough - to both ask us for feedback, and then
to follow through, helping us collectors fill a good number of our VERY
few remaining Top 40 Hits not yet on CD - even a wacky (but cool) novelty
song like "Cinderella", which I never thought I'd own on CD in my lifetime!
Just thought I'd share the good news! Many thanks to Bill Buster, Mark
Mathews and the entire Eric/Complete 60's team!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First this looks like an amazing set, and I appreciate the Eric site noting which tracks are DES (Digitally extracted stereo)
That process doesn't bother me, I just like knowing. Also, does anybody know if some of these new stereo releases are synched up stereo (using the mono version plus some multi tracks)or are new mixes from muli tracks or newly found two tracks?

I can't speak for most of the songs. Randy Price played some of them recently on Topshelf Oldies and these are just my comments on what I heard:
Do You Love Me is a new sync up (but calling it a stereo debut is false advertising) between the backing track and the mono 45 version. When I first heard it played on a lo-fi laptop, it sounded OK to me, but upon a second listen on my main computer speakers, I did not care for how it sounded. But i've always been fairly critical of sync up mixes as well as DES/DCS mixes to begin with.
Town Without Pity sounded like a DES/sync up between the stereo backing track found on the Italian language version of the song, and the mono mix. I did not personally like how it sounded.
I believe Venus In Blue Jeans is the same, in that the stereo backing track was found with a different artist's vocals on it, which were removed before it was synched up with the mono version. I did not personally like how it sounded either.
Sealed With A Kiss is likely a sync up with the undubbed version found on an ABC reissue 45, though I do not know if they found a tape source for this version to sync with or if they found the elusive stereo version of the undubbed mix to sync with, as Randy did not play this one.
Good Timing sounded like a sync up to me and not very wide at all. I'm sure some of the other stereo debuts are sync ups as well.

Since this release and the instrumental CD releases at the Eric site are via a "UK label", I'd also assume that the "Complete 60's" CD series are public domain exploits from the E.U. where most recordings before 1963 are now in the Public Domain. Still high quality releases though.
A lot of this is going on in the EU with labels like Not Now Music. Some are high quality releases, some shoddy. Some EU labels even sneak downloads onto Amazon and iTunes until American labels kick them off.

This is a nice collection (thanks to Jim for the heads up).
In case any of you sticklers for the full version of the
hits are interested for some years now every domestic CD
release of Bobby Rydell's version of "Volare" was faded
early. However, on disc one of this release the last eight
seconds are included.

I just received my copy of Amazing Early 60s Box: 88 Hard-to-Find Hits in the mail today, which I ordered directly through the Eric Records website! Even though I've only begun listening to the first disc, I'm very pleased with the track selection and sound quality so far! Many thanks to Bill Buster, Randy Price, Mark Mathews, and Walt Weiskopf for putting together this fantastic compilation especially for collectors!
