My commercial 45 (Bang! 547) has a listed time of (2:55), but an actual time of (3:01). Pat, just FYI, my 45 copy does happen to include an "I" to start the song's title. But my RR "Top Pop Singles 1955-2006" book states that 45s were issued in 1967 both with and without the "I" in the title, and I obviously take them at their word about that.

Jim, I've never run across a copy that does have the "I" at the beginning of the title (and I've likewise never run across a Bang 45 with an exclamation mark, either :).

I'm wondering whether or not the "I" copies were from one specific pressing plant. Every Bang and Frog King LP I have with the track omits the the initial "I" from the title.

Here's a label scan of the 45 I bought at the local Musicland in 1967 when TTLFTNT was new.

This Monarch pressing also omits the "I."

And the final TTLFTNT 45 issued by Bang - the 1973 stereo Solid Gold reissue - is also IWOL.

Yah Shure, I don't have the ability to do post scans, but my 45 lettering looks much different than yours, with the entire song title on one line. The only deadwax info besides a handwritten "W10131" is an insignia, which will hopefully be a tipoff to you as to which plant it was pressed: there is a large, inverted, mechanically-typed "S", with the smaller, capital letters "R" and "C" squeezed inside the loops of the "S".

Thanks, Jim! The SRC logo indicates that yours is a Specialty Records Company pressing, from Olyphant, PA. We occasionally got Specialty Bangs here in the Upper Midwest, but mostly they came from Plastic Products out of Memphis, lousy quality and all.

The Specialty manufactured Bang 45 pressings were the best quality of all US pressings.

I'll have to do some digging around but I believe I still have a promotional pressing of the 45, a SRC plant pressing, with the title on one line and including the word I at the beginning. I've never seen a copy with the title on two lines before but have seen it on one line with and without the I at the beginning.
