I found this on youtube, the mono 45 mix.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxatiEphe_E
1) Is it assumed to be a true mono mix?
2) Has it appeared on any import CDs?

It is a true mono mix apparently. Know of no CD that uses
this version. All CD issues I have heard have been Stereo
thus far, if someone has a CD with the mono mix, I'd love
to be proven wrong.

There are a fair number of mono 45 mixes of songs available on Youtube -
folks who have the 45s and "record" them to their computer. Not having
many of these mono 45s, I for one am thankful to be able to hear them this
way, as many will likely never see the light of day on CD (although more and
more trickle in all the time). Many, like this one, sound rather fine too.
Keep posting your finds Indy!

So that this thread might appear for search purposes, the correct spelling of the group's name is Spiral Starecase.
My "More Today Than Yesterday" commercial 45 (Columbia 44741, Pitman pressing) lists at (2:48) and runs an actual (2:49). Handwritten deadwax is ZSP-138613-1C.

Indy, as the topic starter, would it be possible for you to go back to your
initial post's title, and edit/fix the spelling of this group's name? For
example, as one who also knows the correct spelling, if I searched Pat's db
for "Spiral Starecase", under "topic subject", your thread would not appear,
since you wrongly spelled it as "Staircase" - which is not a match to
"Starecase". This thread has good info - would be a shame if it "got lost", just
for this reason. Thanks! :)

Didn't realize it would let me still edit that. Good idea.
Done.

Oh, absolutely. If this record had been released in, say, 1965-67, we'd probably be talking about the Spyral Staircase.
And just in case anyone down the road types in the more intuitive spelling for the group's name in a message body search:
Spiral Staircase
:)
