According to the database, the Complete Pop Instrumental Hits Of The Sixties, Vol. 3 1962 3-CD set shows Mr. Acker Bilk's "Stranger on the Shore" with the comment: "first time true stereo mix of the mono 45".
So for clarity, what does this mean for all the other stereo appearances of this song on CD without a database comment? Are these an LP mix?

I can help out with this one,
The master we located for "Complete Pop Instrumental Hits
Of The Sixties, Vol. 3 1962" is the 1st generation UK
stereo recording. This master folded to mono will give
the U.S. Atco mono 45 mix.
For its 1962 LP release, a lot of heavy reverb was added
to it, so as a result all other stereo versions with the
reverb added could be described as "LP version".
While i'm at it, i'll point out this set has quite a few
first-time-on-cd tracks including the 45 version of
"Alley Cat". :-D

Thank you very much for the first-hand "behind-the-scenes" scoop on this, Mark. I must say, hearing "Stranger on the Shore" for the first time without all the added reverb (and from a first generation master tape, no less) on the Complete Pop Instrumental Hits of the Sixties, Vol. 3 1962 compilation is very much a revelation! (And I'm also very happy to now finally have the mono 45 version of "Alley Cat".) You and your colleagues did some truly outstanding work on this set!
So if the heavy reverb stereo mix of "Stranger on the Shore" that has appeared on all other CDs to date is the same mix as the one on Acker Bilk's 1961 parent vinyl LP of the same title, then the database should probably have "LP mix" comments added next to all previous database CD entries.
