Pat:

Here's another FYI... When doing an artist search for Eurythmics, you'll notice "Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves" with Aretha Franklin correctly shows the comment: (LP version faded early in an unsuccessful attempt at recreating the 45 version) next to the Chicken Soup for the Soul - I'll Be There for You CD on Rhino 75526. However, if you do an artist search for Aretha Franklin, you'll notice "Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves" incorrectly shows the comment: (45 version) next to that same CD. Just thought you should know.

Does anyone have the actual time of the 45? Can it be recreated?

The LP version on the Eurythmics's "Be Yourself Tonight" is longer than the Aretha Franklin's "Who's Zoomin' Who" LP version. Only the Eurythmics LP has an effect sound at the ending, so the actual running time is :04 longer.

LP "Be Yourself Tonight" by Eurythmics - actual 5:55 / listed 5:54 (RCA AJL1-5429)
LP "Who's Zoomin' Who" by Aretha Franklin - actual 5:51 / listed 5:54 (Arista AL 8-8286)

Since I had asked before, then forgot about this thread, anyone know how to recreate the 45 version?

remove : from 3:59.394 till 4:34.552 on the LP version (from "Sister" word to the same place)
after the remove, fadeout starts at 4:21 (the 45 actual runnig time 4:29)

The 45 version of this duet appears as a bonus track on the just released Who's Zoomin' Who? (expanded edition) two CD set. It is a Funky Town Grooves USA release (manufactured by Sony Music) FTG 282. It includes all nine original tracks plus 17 additional bonus tracks.
