I can't hear any difference between my commercial 45 of "Tall Cool One" and the CD. They both run 4:37; mix seems the same. But all listings in the database say "LP version".
Was there possibly a different 45 pressing that had an edit, or is this a database error?

agreed.........my 45 is identical to the version from "now & zen" and runs 4:37.....must be an oversight in the database.............maybe pat is working off the dj/promo 45 as his point of reference.........edtop40

Yes my 45 of "Tall Cool One" is a dj copy and is an edit of the LP version running (4:31). I have changed the database to reflect this inmformation.

Pat, there were two different "Tall Cool One" promo 45s put out. The first one we received has the same, listed (4:37) version, on both sides, that appears on the commercial 45. The promo 45 you own, with the listed (4:31) on both sides, was the second one issued, on that rare, bright red Atlantic company sleeve, which they seemed to reserve for 2nd promo 45s, in a probable attention-getting ploy, to "boost new radio interest" into a song.

The DJ 45 edit is on Atlantic's Year In Review: 1988.

It's the 16 beats from 2:12 up until the next "lighten up baby..."

Forgot about this post, but am posting my editing info for
the promo 45 anyway. Same as Aaron's findings:
For the timings on Classic Rock 1979-1988, remove
the 16 beats from 2:12.7 to 2:18.7, editing on the
downbeats.
Six seconds? Really, Atlantic?
