Couldn't find any info in a search on how to make the 45 version from the LP version. I'm pretty sure the edit(s) are in the intro of the song. The 45 says a :21 intro.

A friend of mine locally sent over a dub of his 45. As I suspected from memory, the edits were in the intro.

And if you use the LP version as a basis, you also have to fade a little earlier even after completing the two intro edits, right?

Good ear, Gordon! I had mentioned that originally in the post, then went back and listened again, and concur with your findings. Yes, it is a slightly earlier fade on the 45 vs. LP.

my commercial 45 of the starz song "cherry baby" issued as capitol 4399 states the run time as 3:29 and does indeed run that length and is just an edit of the full length 3:46 cd/lp version...this 45 run time info s/b added to the db......thx aaron for doing the edit for me.....
