"Say My Name" might need a note in the database. From memory, the full-length album had a very quick spoken part at the beginning of the track. (These were placed in front of several songs on the album.) Also, unless other evidence can be brought forth, the version on #1s and "Save The 90s (disc 2)" should probably be labeled "neither."

Aaron, here is my promo CD single info:
-Destiny's Child-"Say My Name" (CSK 42841)
1-Album Version (listed 4:31; actual 4:28)
2-Instrumental (listed 4:31; actual 4:28)
3-A Cappella (listed 4:31; actual 4:26)
I also have a 5-track commercial CD single:
-Destiny's Child-"Say My Name" (44K 79346)
1-Album Version (listed & actual 4:28)
2-Timbaland Remix (listed & actual 5:01)
3-Maurice's Last Days Of Disco Millennium Mix (listed 7:35; actual 7:36)
4-DaddyD Remix W/Rap (listed 4:48; actual 4:49)
5-Album Version Featuring Kobe Bryant (listed & actual 4:27)
I don't have the full LP handy to compare, but my "Album Version" doesn't appear to include what Aaron describes at the start of the track.

I've also seen a European CD single that has the following:
European CD Single Part 1 COL 668851 5
1. "Say My Name" (Radio Edit) - 3:46
2. "Say My Name" (Album Version) - 4:28
3. "Say My Name" (Timbaland Remix) - 5:02
4. "Say My Name" (Album Version) (featuring Kobe Bryant) - 4:27
5. "Say My Name" (Daddy D Remix w/o Rap) - 4:48
I believe the voice at the very beginning that says "Dark Child Na Na Na" is Kobe Bryant.

I always assumed it was the producer, Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins.

There are 3 different cd's in the database that run (3:59) so where did this version originate?

Aaron, you're probably correct. I just assumed since Kobe has label credit, it was him.

There was also a standard commercial CD single release for "Say My Name" containing just two tracks:
1) Album Version (actual and printed time - 4:28)
2) Timbaland Remix (actual and printed time - 5:01)
Pat, I believe the 3:59 edit first surfaced on Destiny's Child's #1s CD (Sony Urban Music/Columbia 97765) and it is clearly neither the single nor album version.
