The 10th edition of T40MOCD shows Bruce Springsteen's "Human Touch" on the CDs Human Touch (Columbia 53000) and The Essential (Columbia 90773) as being the "LP version". I used to have a commercial CD single copy of "Human Touch" and I could swear it was the same as the version on the two aforementioned discs. Is my recollection correct? Meanwhile, did commercial cassette or vinyl 45 single copies feature a different version or edit?

My input was taken from the dj cd single which lists as the first track "radio edit" running (5:09). The second and final track states "LP version" (6:28). Whitburn lists the time as (6:25) so your recollection must be correct Todd but we need to hear from someone that has the cassettes single to be 100% certain of the cassette single running time.

Pat:
I just asked Ed to verify his commercial cassette single copy of "Human Touch". He says the song officially runs 6:28 and the sleeve states "Album Version". Thus, the single and album version are identical.

the promo cd single (columbia csk 74273) contains the radio edit at 5:09 as the first track and the album version (6:28) as the second track...

I have the LP version (runs 6:28) on Spotlight On Hits Vol. 5.
I have what is labeled as "Radio Edit" (runs 5:09) on Top Hits USA RH12, a TM Century disc, and Greatest Hits.
Turns out that the "Radio Edit" is just an early fade of the LP version.
To create the "Radio Edit", put a 32-beat fade on the true downbeats from 4:52 to 5:09.
