The actual commercial 45 run time of the Allman Brothers Band's "Straight from the Heart" is 3:17, not 3:18 as stated on the record label. (These timings are courtesy of abagon.) This is a significant discovery because database CD appearances of this song run 3:43-3:46. Therefore, we're probably looking at a version or length difference between the 45 and LP. I will try to obtain a 45 dub for further analysis, but until then can anyone provide some insight into the time difference?

Thanks once again to edtop40 who has supplied me with a commercial 45 dub of "Straight from the Heart", we've determined there is a version difference between the 45 and LP. The 45 is comprised of an edit during the instrumental bridge and then fades earlier than the LP. Therefore, all CD entries in the database should contain the comment: (LP version).

Based on listening to a dub of the 45, here is my recreation points, based on the track from Brothers Of The Road.

Keep from 00:00-02:05.790
Remove from 2:05.790-2:16.716
After the instrumental bridge is edited, the vocals fade from 3:08 to 3:17 on Greg singing the word 'heart'.
