The run times listed in the database for this song vary by as much as seven seconds, with the longest being 3:45 on "AM Gold: 60s Generation." Most seem to run about 3:40. Anyone own the 45 that can time it for me (or send me a dub)? Thanks.

Brian, I have just pulled out my original 45 for you. It has no listed time at all on the label, but it has an actual time of (3:40). If you still need me to shoot you out an mp3 dub, to assist you with your "Mellow Yellow" research, just let me know.

Epic, for some reason did not list the time on their commercial 45s until mid-1967. Time was listed on promos though.
Any idea why? Other CBS subsidiaries/distributed labels listed the times.

A million thanks, Jim! If you've already got the dub on your PC, I'll be glad to take it. If not, don't bother doing it again.

It was probably just their policy, perhaps to have less clutter on the label (or maybe so you wouldn't feel cheated buying a 1:34 Dave Clark Five single.) :)

Those Pearl Jam commmercial labels with the retro yellow Epic logo looked very clean, especially with the UPCs printed on the sleeves instead of the labels.

More music, less clutter: Columbia and Epic commercial 45s also rarely stated the publishing credits that were listed on the promos.
