Thanks for the info! I was surprised that 6 of the 11 songs are available on CD, and a 7th one ("They Don't Know") can be edited from the regular version to get the extended version.
It was the exception to the rule that an extended version was just an edit of the short version. But like "They Don't Know", that was also the case for "You Should Hear How She Talks About You" and "Love Is in the Air".
The funny thing is ... my #1 guess for what WOULD have been available on CD was the extended version of "Shadown Dancing", but that's one of the 4 on my list that only remains available on vinyl.

Have you ever heard the 12" of Olivia Newton-John's "Physical?" It's literally just the single, played through twice (seamlessly)! :-D

No, I haven't heard it. Maybe I can find it on YouTube. That seems like an odd approach - just repeat once (fully).

Shalamar's UK 12" of "There it is" from around the same
time frame as the aforementioned "Physical" by ONJ and
follows the same pattern of just repeating itself twice.
Columbia tended to do this style of mixing as well in
the late 70's where they wouldn't introduce anything new
into the 12 inch mix but would revisit the bridge,
break, and then hit the chorus again. Gibbons, Morales,
Moulton and Levan had their hands full with Salsoul,
Prelude, and Atlantic, I guess.

I recently came across 12" versions of these songs, and I was wondering if anyone knows if they've been released on official CD:
Wilder, Matthew - The Kid's American (remix club version)
Young, John Paul - Lost in Your Love (extended version)
Carnes, Kim - Abadabadango (dance mix)
Parton, Dolly - Baby I'm Burnin' (special disco mix)
Welch, Bob - Precious Love (12" version)
Heart - These Dreams (extended remix)
Branigan, Laura - Maybe Tonight (12" remix)
And just to keep my current wants of 12" singles on CD in one place, here are the rest that I don't think have come out on CD:
Basil, Toni - Mickey (so far, all CDs have used clean vinyl sources for this)
Branigan, Laura - Spanish Eddie
Carnes, Kim - Crazy in the Night
Eurythmics - There Must be an Angel (special dance mix)
Hartman, Dan - Second Nature
Easton, Sheena - So Far So Good (extended dance version) 5:24 & (red mix) 8:00
Amazulu - Montego Bay (12" version)
Aswad - Give a Little Love (extended version)
Wilson, Mari - Just What I Always Wanted (12" version) (US mix)
Reddy, Helen - Make Love to Me (disco mix)
Thanks to people here, I was able to remove about a half dozen of my extended 12" wants last month!
And now I've come across 7 more :)

1.Red Box-Chenko (Tenka-io) (No Reservations Mix)
Also the 7" edit of this is not available on cd and
would be appreciated.

Since this thread is about '80s remixes not available on CD, it's probably the best place to ask this. Can anyone fill me in on the company Hot Tracks? Mark M says that Brian and Aaron may still subscribe to this service. A few years ago I got some Hot Tracks remixes from their website, I think (though I don't remember 100%). I found them in a folder yesterday but don't remember the details of how I got them. While I know Hot Tracks provides remixes to subscribers and have done so from the '80s (or earlier?) through today, I have these questions:
* In the early & mid '80s, did they simply transfer some 12" vinyl and clean them? (It seems like that from the few files I downloaded.)
* What can you tell me about the in-house remixes they did, like Branigan's "Solitaire"? (The official 12" release is just a loop of the original mix. And that version came out recently on the "Branigan 2" CD. It could easily be edited together).
* In hearing their remix of "Solitaire", they clearly had access to the instrumental track - because what makes up much of the rest of the extended version is the instrumental track under verse 1 & under verse 2, etc. I've checked in many places like discogs, ebay, etc. and can find no evidence that an instrumental of "Solitaire" was released as part of a promo 12" or otherwise. And the instrumental sections in this particular song sound too be good to have used vocal-elimination techniques available in the '80s (which were much worse than what's available now).
*So does anyone know - was this company big enough that they could contact Atlantic and ask for an instrumental mixdown of "Solitaire" so they could do their own remix?
*Are most of their homemade special '80s mixes still available today as downloads (or only as CDs from 3rd party sellers)? (From what I saw of their site yesterday, they mostly are currently just selling CDs with newer stuff).

Edison:
I don't have a lot of info about Hot Tracks, but as I
own enough of their stuff, it seems like the majority
of their mixes were unambitious, mostly extending
intros and outros to allow DJs to mix them into sets
easier. Personally I much preferred the mixes from
DMC, Mixx-It and Ultimix which took a lot more
creative liberty.
I kind of doubt that labels would send them
multitracks because labels weren't profiting from HT
mixes and Hot Tracks wasn't so well off that they
could afford that. Plus listening to their mixes if
they had access to that I would hope their mixes would
have been significantly more interesting than most of
them are. So with Solitaire, either they probably
edited smaller pieces of the instrumental sections
into a larger one or someone lucked out.
There are a lot of HT mixes on YT, and you can find
CDs on eBay but they aren't usually cheap, especially
the oldest ones.
Lastly, for anyone searching for specific old mixes of
tracks, Discogs is your friend, it's how I track down
that one rare expensive disc that just happens to be
the only CD copy of the mix you've been looking for
for a decade. :)

As long as we're discussing custom mixes, is anyone
familiar with a version of "One Night In Bangkok" that
splices both the 1985 Murray Head and Robey recordings
together? I have found multiple versions on YouTube, but
not the one I taped off the radio in '85. The one I'm
looking for includes some additional "gong crash" effects
near the beginning and end of the song (can send a copy to
anyone interested in hearing it). I'm hoping it was from
one of the remix services, but suspect it was just an in-
house edit.

Re: One Night In Bangkok
I have a Hot Tracks mix running 7:01 that contains two
versions (along with Danny Elfman's Gratitude) spliced
together. The other version has a female vocalist.
Not sure if this is what you're looking for.

AudioDile was kind enough to share the Hot Tracks mix with me...unfortunately it was not the version I remember. Makes it even more likely the one I'm looking for was an in-house radio edit.

I've been looking myself for the I Didn't Mean To Turn You On by Robert Palmer Extended Dance Mix myself with no luck on CD other than this one in the Netherlands...
https://www.discogs.com/release/2277767-Various-Dance-Classi cs-Pop-Edition-Vol-2
I hate spending $50 to get one song when I have almost all the others on the CD's!

Is this the same as the 12" Extended Version that appears on the Promo CD Single of the song, running 6:35? Perhaps the version on the Vinyl 12"
Single is mis-timed/mis-labelled?

Nope, that's the 12" Remix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APBARAYT3fw
There were two remixes released commercially but not together. The version on the US 12" has not seen CD release: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYja_XGhSD8

Gem80s: You are correct, I listed the wrong mix.
It's actually the 12" Mix/Arsenic Mix of Catch Me I'm Falling that I'm looking for, not the Dance Mix/Belladonna Mix.

AudioDile, yes I bought the Sheena "Definitive Singles" the day it was released. So glad that stuff came out on CD.
And I can confirm that these 2 have never been on CD:
David Naughton - Makin' It (Special Disco Version - 7:08)
Kim Carnes - Crazy In The Night (Dance Mix - 5:10)
One Way Records reissued many of Kim's albums on CD with quite a lot of bonus cuts. But not the extended versions of "Crazy in the Night" or its follow-up "Abadabadango". Makes me wonder if the tapes were lost or if the label just didn't know these versions existed in the first place.
