My promo 45 has long and short versions. One side is the "Vocal/With Intro", has a listed time of (3:50) and an actual time of (3:52). The other side is the "Vocal/Without Intro", has a listed time of (3:20), but an actual time of (3:24). The only difference between the two versions is that the first :28 of the (3:52) version has been removed, to create the (3:24) version.

I nominate Jim for MVP (most valuable poster) Board member of the Year!

By the way, I always wondered if JJ Fad had an official radio edit that removed the intro. Thanks a lot for that valuable information, sir.

Abagon informs me the actual commercial 45 run time of J.J. Fad's "Supersonic" is 3:52 and states "Vocal/with intro" on the record label. (The printed time on the label is 3:50.) This appears to be identical to the one side of Jim's DJ 45.

This song tracks into the next selection on the "Supersonic - The Album" (Ruthless 90959-1)
The 45 ending was added a bass sound. The vinyl LP doesn't have it.
The 45 is different from the LP at the ending.

I have the "Maximum Rap" CD (Elektra 62091). "Supersonic" on the CD is missing the additional bass tone found on the 45 ending. The "Maximum Rap" includes "LP version"

The below PV is the 45 version which has the ending bass tone (or bass drum). at 3:52-3:53
Supersonic 45 ending

I have been on a Razor & Tie label push lately. I've been picking up a number of the two-disc sets on ebay and Discogs whenever I can find them dirt cheap.

Members have advised me that the best issues were produced in the mid 90's, so when I picked up a set called "Dance Dance" (2007) I wasn't expecting much. For the
JJ Fad track "Supersonic", I was hearing a lot of vinyl crackle. I don't think this was intentional as some R&B tracks sometimes do, or did in the past. I
think this is just a crap needle drop that could have been easily found in 2007 as a digital copy or CD version elsewhere.

I'm going to look around here too and see if I have another copy of this in better condition. I don't remember the crackles as part of the finished single.

<Dave> Someone please tell I-Heart Radio that St. Louis is not known as The Loo!

You're right that it's not supposed to have any vinyl crackle. More than likely, they lifted it from the Tommy Boy Presents: Hip Hop Essentials Volume 1. This CD has a crap needle drop of "Supersonic." Several tracks across the Tommy Boy series are vinyl dubs, and it's evident that the producer made no attempt to find a master tape/CD source or at least a clean copy of the record. Some of the tracks sound like they came from worn DJ records.
