Has anyone successfully re-created the dj edit of Love Walks In from the LP version? The guitar solo in the middle has two edits and I'm having a heck of a time getting the second one right.

Yes, I remember making an edit of that one, and you're right that there is a tricky edit somewhere. It's been a while since I created my edit, but I'm sure it's possible.

Is the "dj edit" mentioned above the same as the 7" commercial 45 RPM single?

Yes, the edit I created was based on the stock 45. I'm guessing the promo 45 has the same edit, but I cannot say for sure.

Hoping after 9 years that this 45 edit has made it to cd
somewhere? I've tried recreating it based on the promo
45 I have and the edit around the 2:38 mark has proven
to be almost impossible to recreate. The rest of it is
fairly easy.

Discogs has the 12 inch promo and 7 inch promo at 4:24.
Is there a shorter version I'm unaware of?
Have the 4:24 edit in my collection.

Yes, it is the 4:24 edit. I am hoping after all of
these years it has made it to cd somewhere. All
compilations I have researched have the LP Version. I
create my own edits from cd for better sound when there
is no digital source.   The edit point at the 2:38 mark
is very difficult and thus I have not been successful
with it.

Rick, what about the 2:38 mark is hard to reproduce? Does it have instrumentation not on the LP version? Or is it a difficult crossfade? If you want to send me the 4:24 edit, I can try it myself from the LP version. Big fan of the song, and like you, I do my own edits to create 45 edits from CDs where only the longer/unedited album version is available in CD format.
