It's my understanding that commercial CD single copies of Faith Hill's "Breathe" consist of the album version. However, according to my research, there was a promo CD single release on Warner Bros. PRO CD 4289(?) consisting of the following track and printed run time:

1) Pop Version - 4:10

Does anyone have a copy of the commercial and/or promo CD single of "Breathe" who can pass along the actual run time info?

Todd, I'm not at home for most of the day today, but I will pull out what I
have on promo CD single for Faith Hill as soon as I can. Feel free to remind
me if you haven't seen an updated post in the next day or so.

I have a commercial CD single (Warner 16884):
1. Breathe - listed (4:10), actual (4:08)
2. It All Comes Down To Love - listed and actual (4:16)

I also have a promo CD single (Warner 4289):
1. (pop version) - listed (4:10), actual (4:08)

Thanks again, Paul. I'm not sure which version of "Breathe" I have on my Promo Only Mainstream Radio DJ CD subscription series, but is this another case where the "pop version" removes any steel guitars from the mix? And does anyone know if any database CDs contain this version?

Tom, do you recall playing on-air any of the versions of "Breathe" on your remix promo CD?

Also, one more question for Paul... Can you determine if the "Breathe" commercial CD single contains the album version or the "pop version"? Even though I don't have a copy, I was initially under the impression it must be the album version because the CD single sleeve lists no specific track description and also states "original version from the Warner Bros. album BREATHE". But now I've read a couple of reviewers on Amazon claim the CD single features a remixed "pop version", so this probably needs further examination.

Todd, they both sound exactly the same to me. So, I'd say that the commercial CD contains the "pop version".

IIRC, I found this CD in a bargain bin in one of the Greenwich Village (NYC) stores I used to regularly visit so the answer is no I do not recall if any of these were played on air.

Thank you for your help, gentlemen! The last order of business then will be to determine whether the single or album version appears on each of the database CDs containing "Breathe".

The pop version is indeed a remix so the database should give an LP version designation.

The most notable difference is when the chorus begins at 1:07. The original album version has three prominent rising steel guitar notes while the pop remix does not. My commercial CD single of "Breathe" has the album version on it.

Thanks for passing the information along, Westlife. So it
looks like the pop mix was on the promo single only. So I
stand corrected, the database is correct.

Btw, if anyone is looking for the "Pop Version" on CD, it's widely available on several import CD singles from the original release era, sometimes also called "Radio Version". They go cheap on Ebay & Discogs.

Thanks for clearing that up. I didn't know exactly what
to listen for back then. As if this stuff wasn't
confusing enough!
