Yes, it's an early fade.

The fade starts at 3:48 on "there must be..." and ends at
3:59.

This Japan release has if not all the edits of their hit songs. I think I am going
to pick this up. Anyone interested in it...here is the link....

I guess it's safe to say the Video Version running about 5:15 has never made it to CD, so I'm just curious if anyone has ever tried to
recreate the Video Version from the Extended Mix. I'm just guessing and going by memory here, but I know both the Video and Extended
Versions have saxophone whereas the regular Album & Single Versions don't have it at all, plus there are some vocal ad-libs by Daryl on the
Video and Extended Mixes that aren't on the common version, which makes me think you could possibly use the Extended Mix to recreate the
Video Mix.

Dan-
I searched tirelessly for a while to find the video version on CD and
never came across it. It is 100% extractable from the Extended Mix,
though. I re-created using the version from ‘Extended Mixes’, and IIRC
it was around 3 or 4 edits and an early fade. I will shoot you a copy.

Is the version of "Say It Isn't So"
included on the Time-Life CD
Sounds of the Eighties: 1983
the correct 45 edit?

The 45 is an early fade of the LP length and runs 3:59. The Time-Life
disc has the correct length.

The 45 edit is also available on
the Japanese compilation Best of
Hall & Oates released in 2015.
This same compilation also contains
the promo 45 edit of "Maneater".
