Yes, thanks Brian! I had almost forgotten about those Digital 45's.

Re: Eric Carmen-"Make Me Lose Control" (ASCD-9686)
1-Single Version (4:45)

Since the promo is labelled as "Single Version", is it any different than what's on the parent album, "The Best Of Eric Carmen"?

I think they were the same, but maybe someone else can verify it.

Did the radio edit of "Make Me Lose Control" exist on promo or commercial CD at the time of airplay?

There's a thread here specifically for the song, and from what I gathered, the radio edit was only available on a Promo 45 at the time
and not anywhere else. The promo CD Single apparently has the Album Version, despite being labelled as "Single Version".

Re: Whitney Houston-"Where Do Broken Hearts Go" (ASCD-9674)
1-Single Version (4:37)

I assume this is another case like "Make Me Lose Control", where despite the "Single Version" designation, it's the same as the Album Version? I don't recall ever hearing any edits or remixes of it, so I would assume it's the same.

Not worth it's own thread, but Book of Love - Pretty Boys and Pretty Girls / Tubular Bells in 1988 (one of the very low Hot 100 hits), the 45 promo has a 7 inch edit of 4:30.

https://www.discogs.com/Book-Of-Love-Pretty-Boys-And-Pretty- Girls/release/2951145

The CD Promo has a 7 inch Mix at 4:48

https://www.discogs.com/Book-Of-Love-Pretty-Boys-And-Pretty- Girls-Tubular-Bells/release/642355

Then there is the 7 inch single which has the song backed with tubular bells as the b-side.

https://www.discogs.com/Book-Of-Love-Pretty-Boys-And-Pretty- Girls/release/1399866

I generally go with the CD Promo when there is one, but is this a case of going with the 7 inch instead? Any thoughts anyone? I mean the promo CD version is hands down the one I could see radio playing.

Eh, I doubt a #90 song got much, if any, top 40 airplay. I’d probably opt
for the version that matches the 45’s A-side.

The promo 45 for Pretty Boys And Pretty Girls times out
to 4:36. This version/length appears on the Rhino cd
"Runway Hits:Music From The Catwalk". The I Touch Roses
The Best Of Book Of Love cd features a 4:48 single
version.
