According to my research, there's a promo CD single release for Sheena Easton's "What Comes Naturally" on MCA MCD 17732 with the following tracks and listed run times:

1) 7" Single Edit with Rap - 4:19
2) 7" Single Edit Without Rap - 4:08

Does anyone have a copy of the promo single who can confirm that actual run times? (Also, it would be great if someone can pass along information regarding the commercial single release as well.)

For what it's worth, I have what appears to be a UK 2-track CD single release of "What Comes Naturally". It features the "Single Edit with Rap" on Track 1 and has an actual run time of 4:18. (Track 2 meanwhile consists of a longer 8+ minute "Extended Club Version".)

I have two promo singles, as follows:

CD45-1134
Cut 1 as "Single Edit With Rap" 4:19 listed; 4:18 actual.
Cut 2 as "Single Edit w/o Rap" 4:08 listed; 4:07 actual.
Cut 3 as "Radio Edit" 5:00 listed; 4:58 actual.
Cut 4 as "Extended Club Vers" 8:04 listed; 8:03 actual.
Cut 5 as "Instrumental" 7:55 listed; 7:54 actual.

CD45-1346
Cut 1 as "LP Version" 4:34 listed; 4:32 actual
Cut 2 as "LP Edit" 4:04 listed; 4:06 actual.
Cut 3 as "Natural Underground Vocal" 8:28 listed; 8:27 actual
Cut 4 as "Naturally Philly Edit" 8:07 listed; 8:08 actual.
Cut 5 as "Naturally Philly Jazz Mix" 8:17 listed; 8:18 actual.
Cut 6 as "Natural Street Mix" 8:44 listed; 8:42 actual.

The MCD label prefix seems to suggest you have an Import, not a domestic promo.

Thanks, Tom. I imagine Tracks 1-3 on the CD45-1134 promo single and Tracks 1-2 on the CD45-1346 would've been the most likely candidates to receive airplay on mainstream Top 40 radio stations.

I wonder if the "LP edit" and the "Single Edit Without Rap" are identical tracks since both have approximately the same run time?

Thanks to Edtop40, I can now report that cassette single copies of Sheena Easton's "What Comes Naturally" have an actual run time of 4:31. (There is no track description nor a printed time on the label or cardboard sleeve.)

By the way, Pat, the DJ CD single information for this song still needs to be updated in the database with the pertinent tracks from Tom Gary's promo CD singles. (Please see the previous two posts above for reference.)

To Ed (or anyone else who can answer this)... I assume the single and album version are identical, correct?

Just in case this has not been answered elsewhere:

Yes, the cassette single version in the US was the same as the full LP Version. When it was later re-pressed as a "Collectibles" 45, the LP Version was also used.

Most other regions (UK, Europe, Australia) received as Track 1 on various CD singles the "Single Edit WITH Rap"* (matching Track 1 on CD45-1134), which is a Louis Silas Jr. remix and not an edit of the LP Version.

I don't know what the US radio "hit" version would have been, as the LP mix and the Louis Silas mixes aren't wildly different from each other, and it's been a whole lotta years for this one LOL.

(*post edited 5/29/2020 to correct typo regarding which version was used as Track 1 on import CD singles.)
