On the Discogs website, for items I want that are currently unavailable at the
time, I choose the "Items I want" option. However, I never get notifications
when an item becomes available for sale. Yet, when I check back I often find
that an item on my list has just sold in the previous day(s) or week. I miss out
so much (by such a short time) that I wonder if there's a way to receive
notifications for an "Item I Want" being back and available for sale. Yet, other
people seem to jump on their wants as soon as they become available.
I'm sure many of you here use Discogs. Does anyone know if there's a way to
do this?

As of now. they only send out email notifications twice a day, as a summary
of “newly listed” items at the moment the email is sent out. I usually get the
email in the morning and evening. If someone lists something in the
afternoon, and it gets sold right away, it won’t appear in the email digest.
What’s an example of something you previously missed out on?

It's a CD by Guys 'n Dolls called "Our Songs". How do I even get emails twice a
day for my things on my "Items I want" list? Here's a link to the CD:

Clearly, adding this to Items I Want is not what I need to do.

https://www.discogs.com/settings/notifications
You can see your notification settings at that link. Check mark the boxes for "When a release in my wantlist is listed for sale." The emails are only sent out twice a day, but as I mentioned, some buyers will check for items more often throughout the day.
The link that says "Items I Want" will give you a current list of items for sale from your want list, ranked by "Listed newest." "Listed newest" can be a new item that has just come up for sale OR an item that was changed/relisted by the seller. For example, if I've had something in my store for a long time but I change the price, it will then show up at the top as if it were newly listed.
The people who are snagging items quickly are simply checking the "items I want" link often and not waiting for the email notification: https://www.discogs.com/sell/mywants

On the topic of Discogs, Just received a link to a new video today -
The Discogs Insider.
CEO Kevin Lewandowski and COO Lloyd Starr sat down with
NTX Founder G.I. Sanders to discuss the origins of the company,
how they've evolved over 20+ years, and where they see the
industry of physical music heading in the future.

Thanks for the info, Aaron. Right now, Discogs has me locked out. (I tried to
log in too many times. And it says to try again in a few hours). So hopefully I
can get this fixed soon.
