First off been working with others to assemble all 636 songs (plus the 2 b-sides) in stereo in my jukebox type assembly. Thanks to Bill C, Ron, Chuck and many others who have made this possible.

After review (and unless anyone knows of any more) here are the radio edits or promo 45 edits as these are never listed in the Whitburn annuals. Times included for reference. In my assembly the radio edits/promo 45's replace the 45 versions as only one version of the song per position can be occupied. I keep the 45's in a folder for easy switch if need be.

Sugarloaf - Green Eyed Lady (2:57)
Eric Burdon & War - Spill The Wine (4:05)
Mungo Jerry - In The Summertime (2:56)
Led Zepplin - Whole Lotta Love (3:10)
Free - All Right Now (3:12)
Marmalade - Reflections Of My Life (3:19)
Pacific Gas & Electric - Are You Ready? (2:42)
Bobbie Gentry - Fancy (3:16)
Melanie - Peace Will Come (According To Plan) (3:19)
Issac Hayes - I Stand Accused (4:04)
Ray Stevens - America, Communicate With Me (2:47) (There is also a 45 that runs 3:10 that includes the intro)
Mongoose - Elephant's Memory (3:41)
Johnny Rivers - Into The Mystic (3:11)
Grand Funk Railroad - Heartbreaker (4:19)
Brook Benton - My Way (3:36)
Ronnie Hawkins - Down In The Alley (3:23)
Jose Feliciano - Susie Q (3:07)
Chambers Brothers - Love, Peace and Happiness (2:50 45 version in addition to 4:10 45 version)

Some observations concerning the top 40:

Diana Ross - Ain't No Mountain High Enough - There is no stereo on CD that matches the 45 version correctly

Shocking Blue - Venus - Thanks to Eric Records this classic is DES. Otherwise no stereo exists

Simon & Garfunkel - Cecilia - The stereo does not match the mono exactly

Kinks - Lola - The cherry cola part isn't in the stereo version

Neil Diamond - Solitary Man (a great song that re-charted but no stereo on CD) The same for many hits of his in this year no stereo or it doesn't match the 45.

Now here is where I need help. Plenty of missing stuff I can't find in stereo. If anyone knows of a source please enlighten. At least if we have the mono its possible to make DES.

These appear not to have made CD or never made mono in their edited form on the 45 or are unavailable outside dubs:

Eddie and Dutch - My Wife The Dancer (need in mono or stereo)
Village Soul Choir - The Cat Walk (its in stereo somewhere but no idea where based on youtube)
Israel Tolbert - Big Leg Woman (With A Short Short Mini Skirt) (need in mono or stereo)
Robin McNamara - Got To Believe In Love (No Mono or Stereo)
Ginger Baker's Air Force - Man Of Constant Sorrow (have youtube but looking for better quality in mono or stereo)
Cool Heat - Groovin' With Mr. Bloe (no mono or stereo)
Brooklyn Bridge - Down By The River (no mono or stereo)
Owen B. – Mississippi Mam (no mono or stereo)

The following are needed in order to know what the 45 version is if the stereo exists and make proper edits:

Turley Richards – I hear the voice of jesus (4:25 mono)
Elephant's Memory – Mongoose (3:45 mono)
Jose Feliciano - Susie Q (3:07 mono)
Brooklyn Bridge - Day Is Done (2:29 mono)

I'll be updating in this thread, but any help is appreciated. Thanks everyone!

I can help with two songs. Cool Heat - Groovin' With Mr. Bloe, is mono on the
custom-made for us collectors CD "Instrumental Hits Of The '70s" - I have a
flac of it. No known stereo of it. I have a vinyl dub of mono Elephant's Memory
– Mongoose (DJ edit) - lossy.

Has this unusual attempt at turning the mono recording of
"Solitary Man" into "stereo" ever appeared on CD? I sure
hope not:

Neil
Diamond - Solitary Man (with wacky stereo panning)
