My stock 45 for this has a listed time of (3:17), and an actual time of (3:25). My deadwax is "N-E1-N543M10". It is Gordy G-7084, same as the stock # listed in my book for the listed (4:30), actual (4:46) stock 45 version. My 45 also lists the song title as "Runaway Child, Running Wild", not "Run Away Child,....".

This is a really strange situation Jim but obviously there are two different pressings of this 45, even with two different spellings of the word "Run Away" or shoudl I say "Runaway". Are you sure you do not have a Canadian pressing that runs (3:25)?

Pat: I have been "sitting" on this "other" 45 version for a while, double-checking my information carefully before posting. Pat. I have THOROUGHLY inspected every milligram of this 45, and there is NO indication of anything Canadian here. It's on the typical Motown-family-of-labels thick vinyl, and has on the bottom of the label "A Trademark Of Motown Record Corp. 1969". Apparently, it was a cut-out - it even has a drill hole through it! It appears to be the "typical" U.S. Gordy label in every detail, and uses the typical familiar silver bold print font. I have quite a few Canadian 45 pressings; they normally jump right out at me, Pat. They have a different "feel" than U.S. 45s do - Canadian 45s are usually of higher quality. And they always seem to specify something with "Canada" on the bottom of the 45. This does not. Pat, when I'm not sure about something, I tell you. I am SURE here - this is a U.S. stock 45, and my time details are 100% correct. Trust me on this one. I only have one copy. I guess this stock copy must be pretty rare! I can send you a label scan if you like...

like jim's, my commercial 45 for the temptations song
'run
away child,
running away' issued as gordy 7084 states the run time on
the label as 3:17 and does indeed run that length.....the
db state the 45 runs 4:43....does anyone own the 4:43
running version?...my run out groove info is 'N-E1-
N543M10'...the db has an incomplete description of the
song
as listed below...
1969 - RUN AWAY CHILD, RUNNING WILD (there are two
different commercial pressings
of this 45, on spells )

I'm surprised this shorter 45 version didn't turn up on
Vol. 9 of Hip-O Selects' Complete Motown Singles box. I
guess this means that set is actually incomplete.
