Pat:
In the 10th edition, "Let Him Go" by Animotion is listed as running (4:15) on Animotion (Mercury 822580) and (4:25) on Obsession - Best of (Mercury 314532319), but there's no explanation given for the difference in run time lengths. Would you happen to know what accounts for this 10 second discrepency?

I don't have the 45 or 12" single of "Let Him Go" by Animotion but I can tell you that the version that appears on "Best Of Animotion" is a remix. Does anyone out there have the 45 or 12" single?

Todd, I finally got a hold of the vinyl 45 of "Let Him Go" and the time on the record label states a running time of (3:59) but actually runs (4:06). The version on the "Best Of Animotion" is the 45 version (a remix) but runs :19 longer than the 45. I will keep my eyes open for a 12" single that may have the full length version as found on the "Best Of Animotion" cd.

Thanks for your report on the 45 version of Animotion's "Let Him Go". Until the correct 45 length appears on a domestic CD release, I'm going to have to settle for recording the song off the Best of Animotion CD onto my Adobe Audition software and creating a fade to match the one on the commercial 45.

i just reviewed the 3 top 40 songs by animotion
i listened to the 45 versions versus the cd versions and here's what i've descovered
Obsession issued on Mercury 880266 in 1985 is identical to the version on "best of 80's rock v 4" on priority 53797
Let Him Go issued on Mercury 880737 in 1985 is identivcal to the version on the "best of animotion" on mercury 314532319 faded to 4:06
Room to Move issued on Polydor 871418 in 1989 is only available on the promo cd single issued as polydor cdp40.....it is the first track on the promo cd single and is stated on the promo cd single as the "7 inch pop mix".........BUT........the promo cd sgl version fades out about 0:03 shorter than the 45......so as far as i'm concerned it is NOT identical.....
anyone know where the 45 version CAN be found of the 3rd entry????????/

Ed:
I have what appears to be the correct 45 version of Animotion's "Room to Move" on a German import 3-inch CD single (Mercury 871418-3). The song's run time is 4:02.

The disc Mercury 314532319 Obsession - Best Of contains a 12" remix version of "Let Him Go" (along with the 45 single version that runs 19 seconds longer) but currently the database doesn't list the 12" version.
