In another thread, 80smusicfreak is suggesting that there was a cd issued by the Cover Girls titled "Show Me" on the Fever label, catalog number 4. Although I have the vinyl LP of this release, I can find no evidence that it was ever released on cd in the United States. Can anyone verify that this cd was released on the Fever label?

I've done some additional research on this since my
original post this morning, Pat. Just to clarify, I know
for a fact that the original 1987 release of the "Show
Me" album on the Fever label was on vinyl LP and cassette
only (I have the U.S. cassette myself); at that time,
there was no CD. The original LP & cassette on Fever then
went out-of-print in the early '90s...
As I noted in my other post, I remember first seeing the
"Show Me" album on CD in the mid '90s; it began popping
up everywhere, even on cassette again. Remembering that
the album was originally on an indie label, I of course
took a close look at these new cassette & CD re-issues,
and saw that they were now on a label called Warlock.
Just now, I went ahead and checked my old "Schwann"
catalogs from the mid and late '90s for reference
purposes, in case my memory was failing me. Sure enough,
it seems they back me on this one: According to
"Schwann", the re-issues I'm remembering came out in
1994; the label & no. was Warlock 2746 for both the CD
and cassette. (I remember Warlock was also responsible
for re-issuing New Edition's 1983 debut, "Candy Girl", on
CD - originally released on the indie Streetwise label.)
Whether or not the 1994 re-issue of "Show Me" on Warlock
remains in print, I don't know, but I've seen it fairly
recently, so I assume it is - but I could be wrong. Hope
this helps...

According to www.allmusic.com, the Cover Girls Show Me album was first released on CD by the Fever label and then later reissued by Warlock Records in 1994 under catalog #2746. The CD is apparently still in print and available for purchase at the amazon.com website:

Okay, it's official: In addition to the original 1987
release of the "Show Me" album on cassette (Fever 4), I
now have the 1994 re-issue of the CD on Warlock! Label &
no. is indeed WARCD-2746 (the CD & inserts bear the
original "Fever" logo as well). The back insert lists
"Because of You" w/ a run time of (5:39), but it actually
comes in at (5:38)...
This is definitely a U.S. CD - the Warlock label is based
in NYC. And it's still very much in print as well. (As
noted previously, collectors of top 100 hits on CD will
also want to track down Warlock's re-issue of New
Edition's 1983 debut, "Candy Girl", which features the
hit title track, as well as "Is This the End", "Popcorn
Love", and "Jealous Girl", although none of them cracked
the pop top 40.)
It was great listening to the "Show Me" album again last
night - today's dance/rap music just doesn't compare,
IMO! Oh, and while I'm thinking about it, I'll also add
Taylor Dayne's 1987 album, "Tell it to My Heart", to the
freestyle hall of fame... :-)
