Does anyone know if the LP version of Otis Redding's "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" on the Otis Redding in Person at the Whisky a Go-Go CD (Rhino 70380) can be edited down into a stereo 45 version? I would think so since the song is a "live" track, but I'd like to be sure before I purchase the CD and try editing it.
By the way, was there a stereo and mono version of the aforementioned LP? According to the database, the LP version appearing on CD in stereo runs 4:45, while the LP version issued on CD in mono clocks in at 4:57.

Todd, you have found "Otis Redding Live At The Whickey A Go-Go" issued on cd in mono? Do you have the record label and catalog number you can pass along?

No, Pat. According to the database, the LP version of "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" appears in mono on the CD The Definitive (Rhino 71439). I don't have this CD so I can only go by what the database currently says. Is the mono notation correct on The Definitive disc, or does the song actually appear in stereo on this CD as well?
Meanwhile, there is a run time discrepency of :12 between the two CD appearances listed with the notation: "LP version". Do you or anyone else know what is the correct LP version run time?

Well that's what I get for looking at my handwritten notes rather than the database. As it turns out, the version on "The Definitive" is stereo just as my handwritten notes stated. Now the difference in time is due to the fact that "The Definitive" cd tracks Papa's Got A Brand New Bag into another live recording that is not found on the "In Person At The Whiskey A Go-Go" vinyl LP or cd so the banter and applause at the end is different, but otherwise during the vocal performance of "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag", the times are identical.
