Pat, I noticed during a recent database modification you made for this title that you have not yet included a promo 45 long/short version notation for it. On one side, my promo 45 has the "Long Version": a listed (4:24), actual (4:23) version, just as your commercial 45 appears to be. My promo 45's "Short Version" side has both a listed and an actual time of (3:49).

Pat,
I ordered a copy of the "Lucky Numbers" soundtrack to get "Together" by Tierra in mono as you have it listed in the database. However, when the disc arrived, this track was not listed on the sleeve. Unless this is a hidden track or the sleeve is incorrect, it is not on this disc. I did not open the disc yet (as I had to rush back from lunch) so I hope I am missing something. Is there a mistake in the database?
Thanks.
Mike

This is certainly a mystery as "Together" is not on the soundtrack to Lucky Numbers. I have no idea what cd that particular mono mix appeared on but I will remove it from the database until I find out what cd it really appeared on. Fortunately there are numerous other mono mixes of this song on other cd's.

Todd mentions in another threat that the disc Smooth Grooves: Cruisin' Classics (Rhino 78263) has "Together" mastered from vinyl. Rhino's Brown Eyed Soul, Vol. 1 is also a vinyl dub. I'm willing to bet money that all CDs in the database containing the original version of this song are mastered from vinyl. We've seen other examples of songs from the Boardwalk record label having only a vinyl source available.

There were clearly 2 promo singles released for this tune. Mine has the 4:24 version on both sides. What was edited out of the short version?

There is one edit in the middle that cuts out 23 seconds. The edit is very sloppy sounding and occurs at the 2:56 mark. It's too hard to describe in words, but your edit will keep the beat of the song with the end point happening about one measure before "I remember..." It also fades about 10 seconds earlier than the full LP/45 version.
