My commercial 45, which is stereo, has a listed time of (3:22), but an actual time of (3:27). The only current CD appearance in the database lists a time of (3:30), just FYI. I think I have his 1974 LP around somewhere; perhaps the version of it on there runs a few seconds longer.

The actual time of the LP is exactly the same as the 45, running (3:27). Does the CD in the database run slower, perhaps? Is the source on that disc vinyl?

I want to bring this post from 2007 back. Has anyone bought:

The Beach Music Anthology Box Set Volume 3

And does it contain a disc/vinyl dub, or a tape source?

With Pat's help, Aaron and I were able to give this a listen. We both had the same reaction - we can't tell for sure, but we both hear a click in the intro, which would suggest this is likely from vinyl. I think I also hear some vinyl distortion (i.e. that "worn out vinyl" sound) in spots. The overall sound quality isn't very good, but we're not sure if that's due to the quality of the mp3 conversion or if the sound on the actual CD is low quality.

The source for the CD really does run about 2 seconds longer than both the 45 and LP. It's not a speed difference.
