I have obtained the commercial cd single for "How Deep Is Your Love" by Dru Hill and Todd's assumption that the 45 version is the censored 3:43 version found on "O.S.T. Rush Hour" is not correct. The commercial 45 runs 4:01 and is not the version found on "Enter The Dru" because that version has explicit lyrics while the 45 has censored lyrics. The true 45 version has yet to appear on cd in the U.S.

my commercial cd single for the dru hill song "how deep is
your love" issued as island 572424 does not state a version
nor run time, but runs 4:01 and is censored........pat at
this time cd single was the most commonly issued format,
shouldn't the cd single version be considered the true
single version and NOT the actual vinyl 45's version?....at
the least the different format versions be delineated, no?

another point that could be clouding this song by dru
hill is that the billboard charts from the time listed
the entry with the artist as dru hill featuring
redman.........my commercial cd single issued as island
572424 contains the below tracks...
1-how deep is your love (no listed time; actual 4:01)
2-how deep is your love (featuring redman) (no listed;
actual 3:49)
3-beauty/what do i do with the love/you are everything
(snippets) (no listed time; actual 3:59)
so this begs the question...which got the most
airplay?....the 3:49 redman version or the 4:01 non
redman version.....also....since the non redman version
is listed first, shouldn't that be the single version?..

I always heard the non Redman version on pop/rhythmic stations.

Since Billboard reported the charting version as the version featuring Redman, that is the version I consider the "45 version".
