I noticed in the database that Alabama's "Love In the First Degree" runs (3:10) on all of the Time-Life CDs, but (3:15) to (3:18) on all other CDs. There is no notation in the database do explain the difference. If anyone can verify the actual LP & 45 timings, that might help to draw a conclusion.
Thanks!

the commercial 45 issued as rca 12288 is just a very quick fade of the full cd version....if you fade for 0:03 from 3:12 to 3:15, you'll recreate the true 45 version....

Just wanted to bump up this post because Jim's timing info was never updated in the database. Abagon also confirms the actual commercial 45 run time of Alabama's "Love in the First Degree" is 3:14. As Aaron pointed out, database CD appearances of this song have times ranging from 3:09-3:18.
Does anyone have the Alabama Feels So Right vinyl LP on RCA from 1981 who can pass along the run time of "Love in the First Degree"? I'm wondering if there might be at least a :03 difference in length between the LP and 45.

Todd, on the Feels So Right LP (RCA AHL1-3930) the listed time is (3:16), actual time is (3:17) for "Love In The First Degree."

As a side note the database lists Nipper's Greatest Hits/The 80's 9970-2-R as being (Live) on my copy it's clearly the LP version of 3:17.

Can you pass along any matrix number information on your copy of Nipper's Greatest Hits - The 80's as my copy has the live version and has a matrix number 14510-1 and the jacket has a printed run time of (2:55) which is wrong as the live track runs (3:02). What is the printed run time on your cd?

My Nipper # is 14210-2 so it's different. But oddly my liner notes lists it as coming from "Alabama Live" and 2:55. So with the matrix number, 9970-2-R number, and actual song version differences, there must be more than one edition.
Plus mine also contains the actual 1981 version of Guitar Man. It's spot on the same as the Time-Life Contemporary Country -The Early '80s Hot Hits version. So they must have fixed that as well. Hope you were able to follow all this.
