Now that iTunes has Ringo's catalog (although a few albums are missing), I noticed that his song "(It's All Down To) Goodnight Vienna" is now available digitally. There are two versions of the song--one runs (2:34) and seems to be the LP version from the Goodnight Vienna LP, the other (3:01) and is labeled "Single Version" but sometimes those listings on iTunes aren't accurate. Which is what I want to check.
Is the (3:01) version in fact the 45 version?

Doug, my commercial 45 has a listed time of (2:58) and an actual time of (2:57), so the iTunes time appears to be at least somewhere in the neighborhood.

It's great to finally see a comprehensive collection of all of Ringo's Top 40 hits on CD! This also marks the first time "Wrack My Brain", Starr's final Top 40 single, has been made available on CD in quite a while.

By the way, the actual run time for "It's All Down to (Goodnight Vienna)" on the new Ringo Starr Photograph: Very Best of CD (Capitol 93827) is 3:00. I just checked.

Yes, David, my commercial 45 does feature the countoff. It may also be sped up a little. I intend to purchase the new "Very Best Of" CD any day now. I'll compare/contrast my 45 version against this new CD appearance, and will report back soon with my findings.

For the "Dose of Rock 'n Roll", does this new CD contain the dj 45 B-side version or the regular version?

I downloaded the song from iTunes and it is indeed the U.S. 45 version, which is a splice of the two versions that appeared on the Goodnight Vienna LP. In most other countries, the commercial 45 was identical to the first LP version.
The version on this CD of the 45's B-side, "Oo-Wee", is the LP version, of which the U.S. commercial 45 was an edit.
