Whitburn lists this as 3:50, but most CDs seem to run between 3:40 and 3:46.

I found a CD where it really does run 3:50, closer to 3:51, in fact. It's on the common import comp "Christmas Wishes" from Dino Music, DIN147D, UPC 9312749147023. All the tracks are fully licensed... it's not a bootleg.

Can anyone confirm the true running time of the vinyl 45, so I'll know if I've got the 45 length version here?

Abagon reports his commercial 45 copy of Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas" has an actual and printed run time of 3:50. Ed reports a slightly shorter run time, so either there are two different 45 pressings or there's a slight variation in turntable speeds. Either way, the two database CD appearances of this song run significantly shorter as Brian established in his initial post.

As noted above, the CD appearances of this song seem to run between
3:40 and 3:46, while the 45 runs 3:51. This intrigues me for some reason.

At first, I wondered whether there was perhaps an LP vs. 45 difference but
of course, this track was a charity record and there is no parent LP (to my
knowledge). So I went on to YouTube to see if I could find the original 45
just for the heck of it, and there actually are about 5 or 6 videos of the 45
playing. Sound quality is decent but not perfect on any of them but I
listened to several and it was noticeable to me that the 45 seemed to have
a ton of reverb throughout the song that doesn't seem to be present on the
CD versions.

Am I crazy and just hearing things? Or is it possible that the CD versions
contain a different (and not just shorter) version? If so, where does it come
from?

There is a 12" version that runs over 6 minutes, have it on an import CD single somewhere.

On further review, I changed my mind on this. I went back
and listened to the CD versions vs. the 45 versions again and I think the
reverb is actually there on the CD versions. I didn't remember it being as
heavy on the CD versions as it is on the 45 but upon listening again, I think
it's there.
