my commercial 45 issued as warner 27773 states on the label "edit" version with a listed time of 3:45 but actually runs 3:48 and is identical to the version from mine and jim's promo cd single listed above....

Can the edit be made from the LP version? (Just realized
I've been playing the wrong version of this one for five
years!)

Yes, you can make the 45 edit from the LP. I did it
several years ago just for my mp3 library.
Sadly, I don't remember where any of the edits are, but
I'd gladly send you my mp3!

Thanks to Mark, I can share the edit points!
...o.k., just one edit:
Take out 3:21 to 4:16, on the word "...I..." of "I love /
the way you love me..."
Then, with what is left, chop off 3:49 to the end of the
file, leaving "...and I..." but not the word "...love..."
Fade to taste starting about 3:38 near the word
"...love..." giving about an 11 second fade.
This was done using the LP version from iTunes, but your
results should be similar with the CD.
