Can someone send me Track 1 ("Edit" - 4:48) from the promo CD single (Atlantic PR 3120-2)?

I'd like to post editing instructions for recreating the edit from the LP version.

Ron, I have just pulled my promo CD single of it for you, and I will shoot your request out to you a bit later, as soon as I recover from my just-completed "1989 Top 40 Hits Research Marathon." Also, thanks for your help on that Eddie Murphy stock 45 length.

Thanks to Jim, I learned that track 1 of the promo CD single, labeled "Edit" (4:48), is just an early fade of the LP version.

I used the LP version is on Atlantic's Year In Review: 1990 (Atlantic PR 3674-2, 1990) for comparison. I got the samples of the Jim's mp3 file to line up exactly with the Year In Review, which tells me that the Year In Review version is a digital clone of the true LP version (maybe with a level or EQ change), and that the "Edit" is also a digital clone of the true LP version.

Using the Year In Review disc for timing, I found that the fade truly begins at 4:23.7 (snare hit on the word "let") and ends at 4:48.7. It's a little shorter than a 32-beat fade, but I found that a 32-beat sinusoidal fade from the downbeat at 4:20.8 to the downbeat at 4:51.3 is a good approximation - it's what I'm going to use in my collection.

my commercial cassingle issued as atlantic 88738 does not state a version or run time on either the sleeve or cassingle, but it does run 5:28 and is identical to the full length cd/lp version listed below....

(S) (5:27) Atlantic 82050 ...But Seriously

my promo cd single issued as atlantic pr3120-2 contains 2 tracks

1-edit (4:48)
2-lp version (5:28)
