Although not in the database, this song peaked at #34 in Billboard, in 6/79. My commercial 45 has a listed time of (3:39) and an actual time of (3:40), but that is not the reason for this post. Does anyone know of either a domestic OR an Import CD that contains either the 45 version OR the original "Ready To Roll" LP version of this song? My Thelma Houston "Best Of" CD includes the "Extended Version", which I believe to be the 12" single mix. I also just browsed her "Millennium Collection" on-line, and the track listing I saw indicates that the same "Extended Version" is also included on there. If not, I'm just issuing a "heads up" that finding a usable 45v source for this song appears to me to be fairly tricky.

Jim:

I was planning to purchase that Thelma Houston Millennium Collection import disc in the very near future, not realizing until now that neither the 45 or LP version of "Saturday Night, Sunday Morning" is on it. I very much appreciate the heads-up, buddy!

UK's "Best of" from 1999 on Spectrum label has a 3.53 version of this single, which might be the LP version (as far as I can recall it sounds very similar to the version I remember from 1979) The same version is also included in Volume 2 of "Eigthies Soul weekender" also from the UK (2-CDs and 3 sets compilation) from 1996.

the 3:57 version that john forwarded me is the same mix as
the vinyl 45 except you'll need to fade it for 0:15 from
3:24 to 3:39 to effectively re-create the true vinyl 45
version....john, do you remember what cd you got this
version of off?

I also would like to know what CD
that track was sourced from.

Do the 3:57 version on Ready to Roll and the 6:19 version on Ride to the Rainbow share the same mix? Can the latter be edited down to re-create the former?

It's been several years since I found this track. It may
have been a lossless file I found from an import. I don't
have the song on my hard drive anymore. Sorry.

I just Googled the song and the 3:55 version appears on
Dear White People (A Netflix Original Series
Soundtrack)
. I'm sure you could fade the song per Ed's
instructions and create a 45 version.
