Have seen 45's of this song. Is it the LP version on 45, or
an edited version?

After speaking with a seller regarding a 45rpm copy of this song, it is a studio version that runs 5:40 he says. Obviously, this is near LP length.
Was there ever a promo 45 issued for this song?

John, since the song you're asking about didn't make either the Billboard Top 40, the Top 100, or even "Bubble Under" the chart, if I ever did get a DJ copy of it, I would've thrown it into my very large, dissorganized, "stiff 45s" section.

If it's any help, I have a Canadian promo 45 with a picture sleeve for this song. The "edited version" has a listed time of 3:50. The "long version" has a listed time of 5:42.

I'm now looking for the edit (or at least the edit points) from that promo single.
I found a similar U.S. promo mentioning that length here.
I couldn't find a copy on YouuTube.
It's only been 14 years... anybody? :-D

Here's what I came up with, based on John's copy:
Remove 0:07 to 0:14
Remove 0:14 to 0:29
Remove 0:37 to 0:51
Remove 1:48 to 2:03
Remove 2:04 to 2:11 (a hair BEFORE the beat to keep the guitar note start)
Remove 2:09 to 2:16
Slow fade from 3:26 (right after "for those about to rock...") to 3:50
Ends by 3:50
I hope this helps! Thanks also for Aaron for providing a copy of CM's dub. I was able to confirm both edits sent to me matched.
