Anybody know whether the 45 version can be extracted from the LP?

What is the difference between the LP version and the 45?
This is one of my favorite songs of all time and I just assumed that the LP version was the single.

The 45 version has a different section at about 2:45 that cannot be recreated from the LP version.

Ed just forwarded me an MP3. Assuming his 45 version is correct, the 45 edits out most of the instrumental break (around (1:33) in, and there's a little vocal overlap of the "stranded on a desert isle" over where the instrumental break would be.
There's also two edits in the keyboard solo at (2:50) of the LP version (from (2:50)-(2:53) and from (2:56.5) to (3:00)).
This is not a 45 I could have easily recreated. Maybe a more savvy editor could.
EDIT: Or maybe not, as Roscoe points out. :)

That's true. The 45 has a unique section that cannot be extracted from the LP version. Ed, that's good information about it being available on the import CD!
