Here's another song where mono and stereo run times differ significantly on CD. According to the database, mono CD appearances of Dusty Springfield's "I'll Try Anything" run 2:31, while stereo ones clock in at 2:23. Is this a reflection of a possible difference in length or version between the 45 and LP? Any 45 and/or LP run time info is appreciated as always.

Todd, my original 1967 mono commercial 45 has a listed time of (2:32), but an actual time of (2:23), exactly what the stereo CD versions run. Perhaps someone else can add other possible version/length specifics.

Where is this song available in stereo? I have the box set from a few years ago and it's in mono there. While it's tough to name one "favorite" DS song, this has gotta be near the top of the list.

I'm also still trying to figure out why the mono versions all run about eight seconds longer than the stereo versions on CD. Speed issue, edit or just an extended fade?

Hopefully, someone with a copy of Dusty Springfield's The Look of Love 1967 vinyl LP can chime in and let us know the run time of "I'll Try Anything". If the CD reissue of that album is any indication, the LP length is the same as the 45. (And by the way, Jim, sorry ole buddy for evidently forgetting to thank you for the 45 info you graciously shared with us 4-1/2 years ago. Better late than never, I guess!)

my commercial 45 issued as philips 40439 states the run
time on the label as 2:32 but actually runs 2:23, just like
jim's info above and my vinyl 45 matches the 2:23 stereo cd
version running 2:23 perfectly.....i don't have the mono
2:31 version to compare.....
