Pat, your current database notation for this song states that the "actual 45 time is (4:20), not (4:11) as stated on the record label". And while both of my commercial 45 copies, like yours, do also have actual times of (4:20), both my copies actually have listed times of (4:22), not the (4:11) time that your 45 apparently states.

There is a brand new expanded Funky Town Grooves release of the 1979 album Disco Nights which includes all eight LP tracks plus five bonus cuts. This new release (FTG 313) includes the 45 version and LP version of I Do Love You.

The DB doesn't list Santi's observation of the inclusion on
the previous post.

Correct. Currently the database only lists the LP version from this release.

There's been an update to the DB.
It's a shame that the bonus tracks don't include the
proper 45 version of their other hit, "Disco Nights."

Quick question. Isn't the 45 just an early fade of the longer LP version? If so, then it would need to be labeled 45 length instead of 45 version correct?

No there is about :10 edited from the LP version starting around 3:26 that accounts for an LP vs 45 version designation.

Thanks for pointing out exactly what to listen for. I hear the difference now.
