FAT BOYS with Chubby Checker - "The Twist (Yo, Twist!)"
The actual 45 running time is (4:03) ,The listed time is"4:00"on the record label.(Tin Pan Apple 887571)
I don't have the original LP (full length CD) track. My stock CD track on the NOW 13 (U.K.issue) has the different mix against the US 45. Are both the 45 and the original LP track "Coming Back Hard Again" the same version? Could you help me?

Pat:
Regarding "The Twist (Yo, Twist!)"... When conducting an artist search for Chubby Checker, the comment for the song accurately reads:
(the actual 45 running time is (4:03) not (4:00) as stated on the record label).
But when performing an artist search for the Fat Boys, there is no above 45 run time info for the song. Just thought I'd let you know so the database can be updated accordingly.
Meanwhile, does anyone have any insight into abagon's original question?

I'd love to know the mix differences myself... and whether the ones listed in the database at the single mix or the "other" mix (album mix, or whatever it turns out to be.).
*BUMP*

Gene, I'm not hearing any mix differences jumping out at me, but I'm sending you a dub of my 45 to compare for yourself. Please let us know what you find.

Well, well, well-well-well!!!
Thanks to Aaron, I was able to compare his 45 to the version from "Now..."
And it is identical UNTIL you get to 3:09.
Aaron's 45 raps:
The west coast!
And on the east coast!
And in the south!
And in the north!
And all over the world!
What time would it break to be incompetable like this! (???) (I have NO CLUE what that actually says; that's phonetic.)
My "Now..." version says, in the same 20 seconds:
Hey, Hey!
England! Do the twist, twist!
And in France! Do the twist, twist!
Ha-ha-ha, Holland! Do the twist!
Ge-Ge-Ge-Germany! Do the twist!
And all over Europe! Do the twist, twist!
Do the twist, twist!
Two (three?) things this tells me:
#1 - There were region-specific versions of the single released: one for the United States, one for Europe.
#2 - The music behind the European version is obviously and painfully pasted in; you can hear Chubby's wail get cut off to start up the generic beats... and when you listened to the copies synched, it's a hair different coming back in (yes, like a bad edit).
#3 - (This is a guess) The Fat Boys thought the "Do the twist, twist!" would be in the American mix, because they leave gaps between each region as if it is supposed to be there, while those shouts are actually there on the European version.
UNBELIEVABLE!
You can't know which version is on a CD until you listen between 3:09 and 3:29.
I also had to slow Aaron's copy down by .28% to match mine, but I expect that's a to-be-expected variation in machines used to dupe from the master tape and not an actual mastering decision, per-se.
Abagon, is this the difference you heard between your 45 & your CD?
EDIT: The "American" version is on this video, minus the talking at the beginning and the end (and the echo at the end.) -- Fat Boys - The Twist ("U.S.A. version")

NEW QUESTION: what is the full title of this song?
Wikipedia in the Fat Boys discography calls it:
>>>>> The Twist (with Chubby Checker) <<<<<
Discogs lists the following promo versions:
>>>>> The Twist <<<<<
>>>>> The Twist (Yo, Twist!) <<<<<
>>>>> The Twist (Yo, Twist! Version) <<<<<
>>>>> Yo, Twist! (7" Version) <<<<<
I'm absolutely baffled as to whether "Yo Twist" is part of the title or just the hit mix of the song, and the song is still just called, "The Twist."
While I know Chubby Checker is on the record, I don't see him on any of the labels in the artist or title position. (The picture sleeve mentions, in a separate part of the graphic, "with stupid def vocals by Chubby Checker.")
Who is the full artist(s), and what is the full title of this song?!?
Thank you for helping settle this monumentally important question! :-D
