45 indicated as running 4:59 in the database, yet timings are 5:12 to 5:16 on CD. Is that the LP timing, and if so, is the 45 an earlier fade or an edit? Or, do all CD appearances run longer?

Somewhere along the way, I picked up a promo 45 of this song that runs 3:59.

that's interesting, because I have a version on a 4-CD set from Canada "Oh What A Feeling" that runs 3:59!

The stock 45 does fade a little earlier than the LP length. The promo 45 version is a nice find on the Canadian CD, David! For a long time, I thought I had the correct version on TM's library, but their edit is wrong on all GoldDiscs, even though they attempted to correct it on a later disc.

Pretty nice collection of songs on the set, David, but not inexpensive!
Canada Oh What A Feeling
Are there any other promo/DJ edits or 45 versions on the collection?

Based on Aaron's comment, it sounds like the commercial 45 of Bryan Adams' "Cuts Like a Knife" is an early fade of the LP, so there should probably be "LP length" comments listed next to each of the current CD entries in the database.
By the way, does anyone have the official vinyl LP run time?

FYI, if anybody was wondering about the edits to make the LP into the DJ version, it's two edits and an early fade:
0:07 - 0:17 on the snare hit
3:00 - 3:10 on the word "feels." (This one was tricky; every bit of the first "but it..." is in the edit, yet it has the second "...feels so right.")
Fade to taste at the end until 4:01, and you have the radio edit!

There is a new Bryan Adams cd titled "Ultimate" that has a (4:05) version of this song. For anyone that has the dj edit cd single can you please verify if this is the dj edit?

Pat, I assume you mean the DJ 45 (not CD single). I can tell right away that this is not the promo 45 edit. The intro of "Cuts Like A Knife" on Ultimate is the same as the intro of the album version, whereas the promo 45 cuts the intro in half.
Doing an A/B, this is the album version faded early.

I just finished skimming through the rest of the songs on Spotify and looking over your song designations in the database. Too bad they didn't use the proper single versions :( It has the LP version of "Somebody," "previously unreleased" versions of "Please Forgive Me" and "Can't Stop This Thing We Started," and an early fade of "Cuts Like A Knife." Pat, by "previously unreleased," do you mean that this is a new mix (perhaps something detailed in the booklet), or is it just a new edit for each of these tracks?

No by previously unreleased I mean an actual edit.

OK, in that case, "Please Forgive Me" and "Can't Stop This Thing We Started" are new edits of the LP versions. "Cuts Like A Knife" is an early fade.
