My commercial 45, which is mono and confirmed as Atlantic 2508, has a listed time of (2:40) and an actual time of (2:39). I only post this info because all but one of the current database CDs that state the original recording of this song feature run times between :07-:10 seconds shorter than my 45, between (2:29) and (2:32). Pat, you currently have two CDs listed, both on the "Ichiban" label. One you notate as being a "re-recording", and runs (2:38). But the other Ichiban CD, which runs (2:37), does not currently contain a "re-recording" notation. Is this correct, Pat, or should there also be a "re-recording" notation for this Ichiban CD, as well? Because, if it is, in fact, the song's original recording, with its "almost-as-long-as-the-45" length, I will want to purchase it.

I don't believe Ichiban ever had any rights to any of Clarence's Atlantic recordings, but I could be wrong...

Thanks, Pat. Hey, it's always better to know this kind of stuff before buying the CD than after!

Ed, I do own disc 1 of Silver Eagle's "Heart & Soul 60's"
.. it was indeed on CD. I found it in a used bin many
years ago, but only disc 1.
Took me awhile to find it, it was mis-filed. It has "Slip
Away" and I'll confirm it does run 2:40 and is in mono.
I'll send a file over.

BTW, it barely makes 2:40 by 1/4 sec, so if I was timing
this master on vinyl I'd likely get 2:39.
