The actual commercial 45 run time of Don McLean's "Crying" is 3:39, not 3:35 as stated on the record label. (These timings are courtesy of abagon.) The 3:39 time is right in line with all the song's database CD appearances that play at the correct speed.

"Crying" on my stock Japan vinyl LP "Chain Lightning" is "3:46" as the actual running time. The LP speed is much slower than the US 45. The 6 CD entries of the running time "3:47" on the database has the comment of (much slower than the 45 or LP) now.
Does anyone have a US pressing of the vinyl LP "Chain Lightning"? Could you provide the actual LP running time of "Crying"?
Thanks,
abagon

My USA "Chain Lightning" LP pressing times out at 3:47. My US 45 is 3:39. Both are USA Millenium/RCA pressings.

Thank you very much, KentT!
Pat, I think that this song needs the designation of "45 speed" or "LP speed" each CD entries on the database.

I have got the US pressing vinyl LP "Chain lightning".
There is no speed difference between the 45 and the LP.
The actual LP running time is 3:38, not 3:35 as stated on the record label. (Millenium BXL1-7756)
