I used to have it on promo vinyl, and I still might. I don't know if it was ever released commercially in the US, but it's a cool mix.

In 1983, while living in Parkersburg, West Virginia, I worked at an album rock station and we actually played the 12" version there. And, the 12" version of "Our House" from Madness.

So many 80's tunes has remixes.
Glenn Frey's "The Heat Is On", Phil Collins "Sussudio",
Huey Lewis' "The Power Of Love", Pointer Sisters' "Neutron Dance".
What I would love to hear again is "Tell Her About It" from Billy Joel. It had a cold ending.
I have a promo 12 inch of "What's Love.." from Tina Turner.
I was in college in the 81-85 era and recall so many hits were mixed into 12 inchers.
I just remembered a mix of "Talking In Your Sleep" by the Romantics.
It was always important for the air staff to pay attention to those 12 inch discs.
Many were pressed at 45 speed!
When I started to work in radio I recall many times having "Addicted To Love" and "You're A Friend Of Mine" as currents and forgetting to reset the speed on the turntable!!
Great to bring up "Our House" by Madness.
That one had a cold vocal ending as i recall.

Here's the 12" version of Talking In your Sleep

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jm78ySUtw-A

I'm making club mixes for each month of 1983 and I'm having no trouble filling each CD with just remixes or extended versions, especially since I'm lucky enough to have some of the Hot Tracks versions.

As far as Our House. I have the 4:58 12" version on several CDs but also a 5:51 version on a French Sony Music CD which ends with a bunch of talk.

I remember hearing a version on WROR in Boston that had a cold ending...I've never been able to find that version anywhere. Someone on this board sent me the 12" version a while ago, but it wasn't the one I was thinking of.

There is a whole mess of Rock 12" from the 80s.

There are a ton of Hall & Oates and many of them are great. There are 2 Volume CDs floating around that are imports. Huey Lewis also had a bunch and there is a Japanese import that has all of them.

The "Tell Her About It" by Billy Joel is awesome and was remixed by Jellybean Benitez.

Also, don't forget about "Dancing In The Dark" by Bruce.......That is also a great remix with an Awesome drum track on it.

There are so many and I can't think of off the top of my head. I'll post later tonight.

About 25 years ago, I bought this great compilation double album called "Number One On The Streets" on the JCI label. It had many of the remixes that have been mentioned here. I looked it up on the web and sure enough used copies are still out there. Some were actual remixes, some were just regular LP versions. Here's what's on it:

Billy Idol - White Wedding (I think it was just the LP version)

Re-Flex - The Politics Of Dancing (regular version I think)

Thompson Twins - Lies (actual remix)

Herbie Hancock - Rockit (can't remember)

ABC - The Look Of Love (a very different remix than I have ever heard anywhere else)

Eddy Grant - Electric Avenue (remix)

Shannon - Let The Music Play (remix)

Michael Sembello - Maniac (remix)

Stray Cats - (She's) Sexy & 17 (regular version)

Daryl Hall & John Oates - Maneater (don't remember, think it was the regular LP version)

Greg Kihn Band - Jeopardy (remix)

Angela Bofill - Too Tough (don't know for sure, because I've never heard this song anywhere else, but it sounds like a remix)

Romantics - Talking In Your Sleep (a great remix)

Men Without Hats - Safety Dance (the same remix that was release on the cassette version of the LP)

Thomas Dolby - She Blinded Me With Science (remix, althought not that much different than the regular version)

Heaven 17 - Let Me Go (awesome remix!)

I think I still have this album on a dubbed cassette somewhere. If they ever would release this compilation on CD, I'd buy it in a second.
