Pat, in your database you mention: dj copies of this 45 ran (4:34) and (4:29). It seems the recording on the album Reel Life CD runs 4:30, and most other CDs run 4:29 or less. So this makes me curious, was something ADDED edit-wise to this 4:34 dj version (like a pre-intro) or is this simply a longer fade than the album and commercial single?

Hi EdisonLite,
The promo 45 that I have is as follows:
Side 'B' is the album version [labeled 4:34].
Side 'A' is additionally labeled "(remix)" and is labeled 4:29.
The remix does indeed go about six seconds shorter than the other side.
The remix has yet to show up on a CD that I'm aware of, but that's okay as it is subtly inferior to the album mix. (It is a more confused, lame mix with very little kick drum punch.)
I could be mistaken but I believe the commercial 45s were the album version.

Andrew:
Have you timed the two sides of the promo 45? It sounds like the run times printed on the label are :04 or :05 off.

The remix has yet to appear on cd from what I can tell. It runs around 4:28 while the commercial single runs 4:30 and is just extended :02 over the remix length.
