The 45 version is readily found on the old The Best Of Earth, Wind & Fire Vol. 1 CD, but in the event that you have only the album version on the 3-CD set The Eternal Dance, here are editing instructions:
Keep 0:00-2:14.2.
After the long-held note, edit on the word "Come" between beats.
Remove 2:14.2-2:49.9 - this removed portion ends between beats just before the word "Come".
Keep 2:49.9-3:36.2.
Edit on the downbeat on the word "as".
Remove the 24 beats from 3:36.2-3:52.3.
Keep 3:52.3-4:39.7 (end).
Your mixdown will run 3:46 (3:48 with outro silence) with edits at 2:14.2 and 3:00.6.
The sound quality on this track is excellent on both CDs, with just a tiny bit more clarity on The Eternal Dance. A remarkable song, too.
